My Cheer Journey

I began cheering after some cheerleaders at Lake Braddock saw me tumble and recruited me. I cheered for the next 3 years, and then, after that I started teaching rec classes at Capital in 2019. Not long after, I began coaching cheer too. This year, in addition to coaching several teams, I continue to support the cheer and rec programs by coaching classes and doing private lessons with our athletes.

My coaching style is to be positive and encouraging. When I was an athlete, one of the things that meant the most to me was seeing that my coaches believed in me and wanted to support me. I strive to do the same for my own athletes.

My Tips for Athletes

Dedication is the recipe for the success! And dedication must come from both athletes and their coaches. So we are in it together.  If you cannot dedicate yourself to your team and its growth, the team will not succeed.  We all want to win, so give it your all.  And when you land a skill you have been working on for so long, that excitement on your face, that's the best thing for me as a coach!  So don't give up.
