  • Official team social media platforms

  • Newsletters, flyers, and print publications

  • Competition footage submissions

  • Highlight reels and commemorative projects

In addition, athletes' names, team names, divisions, and other team-related details (such as awards or placements) may be published in printed or digital form for purposes such as event coverage, competition rosters, social media spotlights, or public recognition of achievements.

Minors and Parental Consent

For athletes under the age of 18, membership and/or participation in cheer or Booster Club activities implies parental or legal guardian consent to the publicity uses described above, unless an opt-out is submitted in writing. This consent includes the use of the athlete’s image, name, and team-related details for the purposes outlined herein.

Opt-Out Procedure

If a parent or legal guardian does not wish for their child’s name, image, or related information to be used in the ways described:

  • An official Publicity Opt-Out email must be submitted to Lauren Barden, Capital Cheer Director. This opt-out is then shared with the Capital Cheer All Stars Booster Club and will affect all Capital Cheer related communication channels.

  • The opt-out will only apply from the date of submission through the end of the cheer season and does not apply to materials already produced or published prior to the opt-out. A new opt-out is required each season.

Failure to submit an opt-out email will be considered permission for full participation in team-related publicity.
