Capital Cheer Big/Lil Program
"Team Up"

Capital Cheer coaches launched a new Big/Lil program called "Team Up", designed to foster mentorship, teamwork, and camaraderie among athletes.

 

If you participate, coaches pair you with either an older athlete (a Big) or one or more younger athletes (a Little). 

 

As a Big, you will guide and encourage your Little(s), offering advice, support, and motivation.  As a Little, you will look up to your Big as a role model and also root on your special cheer match over the season.

 

At competitions, Bigs and Littles, you will make each other signs or cards and also exchange small gifts at larger cheer competitions to show some extra love. And of course, you will cheer your heart out, being an extra special fan during comps!  

 

Through this program, the hope is to build lasting relationships and a stronger cheer community, ensuring athletes feel valued and connected during the cheerleading journey at Capital.

 

Capital Cheer All Stars Booster Club provides specific program needs including event logistics and supplies, so your contributions are helping everyone Team Up!

NOVEMBER 2025

November 16- at Capital Cheer Showcase

(This is an event for all Capital teams!)

  • Bigs make posters for Lils

  • Lils make cards for Bigs

DECEMBER 2025

Week of December 7-12 - at Capital Cheer

(This is comp week for Echo, Charlie, Zulu, Delta, Lima, and Bravo.) 

  • Make a special cheer pin or two for your Big or Lil(s) and put them in your cheer buddy's team bin.

  • *Extra- Buy a Candy Cane Gram and send it to your special cheer friend!

JANUARY 2026

Week of January 11- 16 - at Capital Cheer

(This is comp week for Zulu, Delta, Lima, and Bravo.)

Week of January 18-23 - at Capital Cheer

(This is comp week for Charlie and Echo.)

  • Write a sweet note and give your Big or Lil(s) their favorite candy and put it in your cheer buddy's team bin.

FEBRUARY 2026

Specific Date To Be Determined- Location To Be Determined 

(The week of February 1-8 is comp week for Echo, Charlie, Zulu, Delta, Lima, Bravo, and Tango with some of these teams competing twice.)

  • Meet your Big and Lil(s) at this in-person event 

  • *Extra- Buy a special Galentine Day treat for your Big or Lil

MARCH 2026

Week of March 1-7- at Capital Cheer and Aloha in Richmond, VA

(This is comp week for all of our Capital teams!)

  • Give your Big or Lil(s) their favorite snack and put it in your cheer buddy's team bin.

  • Make your Big a sign for the Aloha competition (Extra points for making it Aloha themed!)

  • Make your Lil(s) an encouraging card​

APRIL 2026

Week of April 5-11 - at Capital Cheer and Regional Summit in Baltimore, MD 

(This is comp week for all of our Capital teams!)

  • Get your Big or Lil(s) a small gift of $15 or less and write a note.
